Terms of Service
Last updated 1 October 2026
These terms cover your use of SharedLayers: the website at sharedlayers.com, the Chrome extension, and the commenting widget. Using any of them means accepting them.
Who provides this
SharedLayers is provided by ANY Jacek Troszyński, ul. Stanisława Barańczaka 3a lok. 28, 60-537 Poznań, Poland. NIP PL7822861401. Contact: [email protected].
Your account
- You need to be 16 or older.
- Give a real email address and keep your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You may close your account at any time.
What you may comment on
SharedLayers places comments over web pages as you view them. The comments are stored by us and are visible only to people you invite. They are never shown to anyone else visiting that page, and they do not alter the page for anyone.
You agree not to use it to:
- Post anything unlawful, abusive, or infringing someone else's rights.
- Store personal data about other people that you have no right to hold.
- Circumvent access controls, or comment on pages you are not permitted to access.
- Attempt to break, overload, or reverse engineer the service.
Your content stays yours
You keep all rights to the comments you write. You grant us only the permission needed to store them, show them to the people you share a layer with, and back them up. We claim no ownership and will not use your content to promote the service without asking.
Layers and access
Whoever creates a layer controls it: they can invite people, remove them, and delete the layer. Deleting a layer hides it immediately and erases it permanently once the seven-day recovery window has passed, including every comment in it. Anyone holding a layer's access key can join that layer, so treat a key like a password.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service altogether, we will give reasonable notice, a way to export your comments, and a refund for any paid time you have left.
Plans
SharedLayers has a free plan and a paid plan, Pro. What each one includes and costs is shown in the pricing section of sharedlayers.com.
- Free covers one domain. It includes unlimited layers and comments and up to five people per layer, counting pending invitations. It needs no card and has no time limit.
- Pro is sold in blocks of five domains and billed monthly or yearly for each block. On top of Free, it lets you install SharedLayers on your own sites with a script, have any number of people in a layer, and export comments as CSV.
A domain is a site together with all of its subdomains: acme.com, staging.acme.com and app.acme.com count as one. Anything you use for free will not become chargeable without notice.
Buying Pro through Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller, Paddle. Paddle is the merchant of record for all our orders, so when you buy Pro you buy it from Paddle: Paddle.com Market Limited, or the Paddle company for your country named in Paddle's Buyer Terms. Paddle takes the payment, issues the invoice, collects any VAT or sales tax, and handles billing questions and refunds. The purchase is governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Your use of SharedLayers is governed by these terms.
Your card or other payment details go to Paddle and never reach us. We receive only what we need to switch your plan on: that you have a subscription, its billing period, how many domain blocks it covers, and when it renews or ends.
Prices and tax
Prices are per block of five domains. Before you pay, the checkout shows the exact amount, in your currency where available, including any tax that applies where you are.
Renewal
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly, and Paddle charges the payment method on file until you cancel. If we change the price, we will email you at least 14 days before the new price applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.
Adding domains
You can add a block of five domains at any time, and the extension shows what it will cost before you confirm. You pay straight away for the rest of the current billing period, pro rata, and then the full price for every block at each renewal. To go down to fewer blocks, write to [email protected] and we will make the change from your next renewal.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time on the Plan page in the dashboard. Cancelling stops the next payment. Pro stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, and you can change your mind before then.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Paddle will try again and let you know, so you can update your payment method. Pro keeps working while it does. If the payment still cannot be collected, the subscription ends.
When Pro ends
When a subscription ends, whether you cancelled, had a payment refunded, or a payment could not be collected, your account moves to the free plan. Nothing is deleted: your layers, your comments and the people in them all stay. What stops is whatever Free does not include. The script on your sites stops showing comments, CSV export is no longer available, and you cannot add layers for more domains, or more people to a layer, than the free plan allows.
Refunds
You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of any payment. How that works is set out in the Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.
Ending it
You may stop using SharedLayers and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will explain why unless prevented by law.
Liability
The service is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or intentional harm. Statutory consumer rights under Polish and EU law are unaffected.
Governing law
Polish law applies. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their own country of residence; for business users the courts of Poland have jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page and, for account holders, by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use SharedLayers after that means accepting them.
